Citnalta is excited to announce that the Inaugural Nicholas J. Gargiulo Scholarship has been awarded to Rachael Palilio, daughter of Citnalta’s Joycel Palilio.
Rachael is currently a freshman at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and is on track to achieve her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering by May 2025. Her many extracurricular activities include volunteering with several organizations, such as Engineers without Borders and the Kearny Community Garden and have not gotten in the way of her ability to maintain an impressive 4.5 grade point average. Rachael has demonstrated her dedication and drive to accomplish her goals no matter how challenging they might be. She truly exemplifies many attributes of Nick Gargiulo as she is courageous, creative, hard-working and a dreamer.
The Nicholas J. Gargiulo Memorial Scholarship was created in honor of the life and accomplishments of Citnalta’s cofounder Nicholas J. Gargiulo. The scholarship offers up to $25,000 to one student to be paid out over the course of the winner’s college education. To be eligible, students should major in engineering, architecture, construction, or a related field and be the child of a Citnalta craft labor (union) employee or a salaried employee who has worked full-time for Citnalta for a minimum of two years as of December 13, 2021.
